Recruiting for any MLM business, including mine, can take many different avenues, one of which is forum marketing. Forum marketing is unquestionably one of the most efficient forms of free advertising available to us as marketers. If you’re like most of us these days you may be short on money to advertise. Using forums to promote products, business opportunity, or websites is a great way to go.

Forum marketing is really not very difficult. It’s basically interacting with people that fit the product we are marketing. When we deal with a targeted market then we are more likely to get real leads and purchases. Adding a signature (a line or two including a link to your site) in every post to a forum will boost traffic.

Forum marketing actually can be kind of fun. It gives us the chance to talk openly about our products and services.

So…here is how I go about forum marketing:

1. Look for questions I can answer. If I can help people with a problem in a forum I am presenting myself as an expert.

2. Sometimes I ask questions. If there is a topic I am looking for more info on, I’ll ask in a forum. This is a good way to add my ‘signature’ to forums plus get some advice.

3. I ask for people’s opinion. I will ask forum members to let me know what they think about my blog or product. This gives me exposure for my signature and product or site as well as good back links.

5. I offer a freebie. Whether it is an article, software, e-book, etc, I will make use of forum marketing by making a post and offering the freebie with the instructions that the resource box must stay intact.

There’s lots of forums to post to and there are things that have to be taken care of in order to get the maximum benefits from posts.

Fill out a profile. Be sure to add your ‘signature’ which will appear at the end of every post (make sure your link in the signature). Understand the different rules about posting at the different sites so you won’t get banned and your posts will be visible. Genuinely see what problem someone is trying to resolve because then you won’t get tagged for spam and you will draw more people to your site. Post as frequently as you think is feasible.

You can usually get a feel for a particular site by looking at what others are talking about and the responses. Don’t advertise when using forum marketing unless it is in a designated area as your signature will do the work for you.

I have found that there are a lot of people just starting out who post in forums and are looking for answers. This is the ultimate in forum marketing and you can make a suggestion about your product and a way to solve a problem. If you have filled out your profile with your signature….you will be providing a link to your site as well as offering a solution to someone’s problem.
