Ok…So most of us know that we should be doing our MLM recruiting and business on-line. This means that search engines, which look at keyword and SEO, bring us a lot of our visitors, especially if we are using the building on a budget tactics for getting free traffic. Well, Google recently released something that’s worth using, Insights for Search.

This new tool gives us access to a huge amount of information related to searches on the net. We can now look at the numbers for searches preformed in precise areas, categories, and periods of time. These search results can be valuable for marketers promoting seasonal items, geo-targeted products or for targeted keywords to boost an MLM business. If you don’t know the importance of keywords or SEO and how to correctly use them, you need to learn these things.

Let’s say we are trying to find a new niche to promote with. Let’s take the keyword phrase ‘on-line education’ for example. The majority of keyword tools will show us current search results and maybe the results for related terms. But Insights for Search can tell us whether a keyword or phrase is declining, if it’s rising or ready to ‘break out’ (meaning it’s a possible ‘up and coming’ niche).

As well, some of our keywords or terms might get our content or ads put into the wrong category without even realizing it. This tool will show us the possible categories that our terms will be listed under. For example, Google puts content for the search term ‘apple’ mostly under computers and electronics instead of food.

Insights for Search will show you:

  • Graphs with the search results showing interest in a term over a period of time.
  • Category classifications.
  • Top search results and search results on the rise (useful for PPC and SEO).
  • A world map that shows the search results for defined regions, cities, and metros.
  • The ability to find additional keywords related to your main keywords.
  • Help with Adwords (setting the correct geographic target is enormously important).
  • Besides letting us see comparisons between the relative popularity and trends for keywords, we can see image search, product search, and news search results.

We need to remember however, that Insights for Search uses statistics resulting from millions of user searches and it only shows results that go beyond the minimum requirements for the tool.

When we really understand how SEO, PPC, Adwords, keywords and web traffic works and we spend some time using this helpful tool, we can reveal new insights about the niche markets we are using for our products or services that we never knew existed. Paying attention to where keyword searches are most popular, top searches and rising searches can be very beneficial for those of us building on a budget.

Of course, if you are unsure about SEO, PPC, Adwords and keywords, you’re not going to get much use out of this tool. It’s important to understand how all of these fit into marketing and an MLM business to get any real value out of it. All of these things are critical to understand even if you never use Insights for Search. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again…get the training…. We all need it to get anywhere.
