MLM Recruiting-How To Tell If Your Prospect Is A Fake
In this life there are those that are ‘doers’ and those that are ‘talkers’. When you are considering prospects for your MLM the difference between the two people can mean the difference between spending your valuable time wisely and banging your head against a brick wall. Asking the question, “Why is it that some of my downline succeed while others fail” will give you the insight on how to tell if your prospect is a fake.
Recently, while asking myself this same question the answers seemed simple enough. They never connected, they never really participated or they just plain gave up. But really those answers are just scratching the surface. The true answers lie deeper and could pertain to you as well as your downline and prospects.
What really needs to be answered is why is it some didn’t take the steps or hang in there when others did?
I looked deeper and it was if someone had turned a spotlight on the issue. There are those that are ‘doers’ (people who will succeed) and those that are ‘talkers’ (fakes). ‘Doers’ have a burning desire to succeed and ‘talkers’ will yammer on about something but that’s as far as it goes.
I know…I know, you’ve been told by me and others more than once about burning desire and it may seem silly because after all, doesn’t everyone have the desire for money? The difference between the two is whether or not someone is ‘hungry’ for success or just satisfied to get by with what they have.
Having a true hunger for a goal means sticking with it ‘til the end with a feeling of necessity, a feeling that you won’t be satisfied until the task is complete. True burning desire for success means that the goal means more than just about anything else. People with that kind of desire are ‘doers’ and those who will ultimately be a success not only in life but network marketing.
It’s that simple. If your MLM prospect doesn’t have the true hunger for success, they are a fake. It’s sad but true that most people in network marketing don’t see it as a business.
Understand and don’t get upset that up to 80% of MLM prospects will be a ‘fake’ and won’t build their downline past 1. Most prospects just aren’t ‘hungry’ enough to succeed. They’re just getting in to appease that tug that says they need to make a change. Don’t waste your time or money on ‘fakes’.
We all have to take a good hard look at our prospects and ourselves and ask just how ‘hungry’ are my prospects for success and how ‘hungry’ am I? I’m really not having to spend much time answering this question and figuring out if someone is a ‘fake’ or not from the first.
Here’s what I ask:
- Have you bought any books about network marketing?
- Are you doing anything on a daily basis to build your business?
- Do you talk to others daily about your business or product?
- Do you participate in conference calls?
- How far are you willing to go to succeed?
At times I don’t even have to go past the first question because anyone who is truly ‘hungry’ for MLM success can name at least one book they have purchased and read. If they can’t there’s almost a 100% chance they are a ‘fake’ and won’t be successful, so don’t waste your time. As well, if you don’t get a sense of urgency on any of these questions, move on.
Have a good hard look at yourself and your MLM prospects and start making yourself more valuable with knowledge and stop wasting your time on ‘fakes’. Find out who truly has the ‘hunger’ and begin with yourself, only then will you become truly successful.

Very good distinction between doers and talkers. If someone can identify which of his prospects or members in his downline fit each category he can devote more time and resources to those bound to succeed.
