When we as network marketers have sales pages and websites for promoting our products or for MLM recruiting, and we make promises, it’s vital to keep them. If we don’t, we lose credibility and customers. All of this can damage our companies and we could even be unaware that it’s happening if people don’t complain to us personally. A bad reputation can be spread very quickly, especially today.

Think back and consider if you have ever personally read a sales letter that made promises, but when you received the product, the product failed to deliver on the promises that were made? If you are like the rest of us then this probably would make you have hard feelings towards the company that sold the product. Like most of us, you would probably even pass along your bad experience to some other people.

We can’t afford to let our customers or prospects have that reaction towards our business. When we make an offer, we must make sure that we can keep the promises we make and follow through with them. If we offer a money-back guarantee and the customer wants a refund within 30 days, we must refund the customer’s money. If we offer to deliver a product in 3-5 business days, it has to be done.

Here’s a tip to write your pages in a way so that that you can keep promises:

After you finish writing your content, look it over. Check that you’ve only made offers that can be delivered. Whenever you see an offer you feel like you won’t be able to keep, delete the offer or adjust it accordingly.

For example, if you say to your prospect your product will increase their productivity by 80%, but you’re not truly sure that it can deliver what you have said, try using a more feasible number for productivity increase instead.

While it’s important to make our offers big enough to get the prospect’s attention and make them serious about purchasing a product or service, the claims we make must also be realistic so we can actually deliver on them.

If we don’t use truthful marketing for our business and MLM recruiting, it can damage our reputation. This causes a mudslide effect of losing customers and having a bad reputation being spread about our personal business and MLM as a whole. We must avoid this by understanding the importance of truthful marketing. When we practice this important concept, we will build our reputation in the eyes of our customers and increase our business’ profits and recruiting.
